This policy explains what information Buck Energy Partners collects through buck.energy, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have written it to describe what this website actually does rather than to cover every practice we might one day adopt.

Who we are

Buck Energy Partners is a solar company based in Pennsylvania. You can reach us at Hello@Buck.Energy or 717.820.9588.

Repair and service work is performed by Buck Energy Services, a DBA of Fortress Siding, LLC. Where you contact us about repair or service, your information is shared with that company so the work can be scheduled and performed. See Who we share information with.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the consultation form, you provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, property address, your company, details about your home, property, or existing solar system, and anything else you choose to write in the message. You decide what to send us; none of it is gathered without you filling in a field.

The qualification tool

The See If Your Home Qualifies tool is entirely client-side. Your answers are held in your own browser's session storage so the summary can be shown back to you, and they are cleared when you close the tab. They are not transmitted to us unless you separately choose to submit the consultation form.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse.

Advertising landing pages. A small number of pages on this site are used as destinations for paid advertising. Those pages load the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel directly, which reports a page view to Meta when the page loads and a lead event when a form on it is submitted. This allows us to measure whether our advertising is working. Meta receives this information and may associate it with a Meta account.

Server-side advertising measurement. When you submit the form on one of those pages we also send Meta a copy of that lead event directly from our server, in addition to the event sent by your browser. That copy includes your email address, phone number, name, and postal code in hashed (irreversible) form, together with your IP address and browser user agent. Hashing means Meta can match the event to an existing account without us handing over your details in readable form. We do this because browser-based measurement is frequently blocked, and both copies carry a shared identifier so the same enquiry is not counted twice.

Every page of this website also loads Google Tag Manager, which we use to run advertising measurement tags from Google (Google Ads) and Meta. These record visits and actions such as form submissions and clicks to call, email, or book an appointment, so we can tell which advertising works. Google and Meta receive your IP address, browser information, and the page visited, and may set cookies.

If you would rather not be measured this way, Meta provides ad and activity controls in your account settings, Google offers ad settings at adssettings.google.com, and most browsers offer tracking protection and cookie controls that apply here.

Cookies and similar technologies

The advertising measurement tags loaded through Google Tag Manager, described above, may set advertising and measurement cookies on any page. The embedded consultation form is provided by GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) and may set cookies necessary for the form to function and to prevent spam submissions. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; forms may not work correctly if you block them.

How we use information

To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation, site visit, or service call.
To introduce commercial and utility-scale enquiries to partner firms suited to the project.
To prepare designs, proposals, quotes, and any agreements you ask us for.
To perform work you engage us to do, and to support it afterward.
To keep records required for our business, warranties, and legal obligations.

Apart from commercial and utility-scale enquiries we introduce to partner firms at your request, as described below, we do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Calls, texts, and email

If you give us your phone number, you are asking us to contact you about your enquiry, and we may do so by phone call, text message, or email. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, and you can ask us to stop contacting you altogether by emailing Hello@Buck.Energy. We will still respond to a request you actively submit to us.

If your enquiry concerns a commercial or utility-scale project, the partner firm we introduce you to may also contact you about it by phone, text, or email.

Buck Energy Services, a DBA of Fortress Siding, LLC — where your enquiry concerns repair or service, so that company can contact you, schedule, and carry out the work.
Partner solar firms — if you contact us about a commercial, agricultural, or utility-scale project, by form or by booking a call, we share the details you provide (such as your name, contact details, company, property or parcel location, and project information) with one or more vetted partner firms so they can evaluate the project and contact you directly. Those firms handle your information under their own privacy policies.
GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) — the platform hosting our consultation form and customer records.
Vercel — our website hosting provider.
Meta (Facebook) — advertising measurement, as described above. Where contact details are sent from our paid-ad landing pages, they are transmitted in hashed form.
Google (Tag Manager and Google Ads) — site and advertising measurement, as described above.
Google Fonts — typefaces are loaded from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
Installers, equipment manufacturers, financing partners, and utilities — only where necessary to deliver work you have engaged us for, such as registering a warranty or filing a utility interconnection.
Professional advisers and authorities — where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of our dealings with you, and we keep customer records for as long as required to support installed systems, honour warranties, and meet legal and tax obligations. You can ask us to delete information we are not required to retain.

Your choices

You can ask us to provide a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, delete it where we are not obliged to keep it, or stop contacting you. Email Hello@Buck.Energy and we will action reasonable requests. Depending on where you live, you may have additional statutory rights.

Security

We use reputable service providers and take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This website is intended for property owners and businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another website, that site's own privacy policy governs what it does with your information. We are not responsible for the practices of sites we do not operate.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the date shown at the top. Material changes will be reflected here rather than communicated individually.
